May I …?

There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes By the deep sea, and music in its roar. I love not man the less, but nature more, From these our interviews in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the universe, and feel What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal. ~Lord Byron

  • Green Tea– On the heels of coffee and tea, it’s the third most popular beverage in the world. Green tea is freshly harvested tea, slightly steamed to stop the fermentation process and retain its green color. Rich in phytonutrient flavonoids called polyphenols, its shining glory is a special polyphenol called epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). This substance is an outstanding antioxidant and cancer preventive. The green tea research at Guys Hospital, London, was published in 1996 in Free Radical Biology and Medicine. The study concluded that polyphenol flavonoids in green tea, particularly epigallocatechin gallate, were more effective than their powerful antioxidant counterparts; beta carotene, vitamin E and vitamin C. Heavy consumption of green tea in Japan and other Asian countries is linked to lower rates of cardiovascular disease and cancer than in many other populations.
